Bukavu, the City of Opportunities

In 2022, we finally touched down in Bukavu, DR Congo, to connect with our fam, Douce and Placide, and kickstart something powerful. Inspired by the vibe, energy, and creativity of the city, we’re launching new projects that focus on job creation, ethical production, and empowering local talent — using local resources, real partnerships, and cultural pride.

Join the Ndáko movement and be part of a fashion revolution grounded in impact and love.

Meet Maman Charleen - Our Journey to Bukavu

After pandemic delays, 2022 brought us face-to-face with the heart of our mission: Maman Charleen — a master seamstress with over 15 years of experience, leading a team of 10 women artisans. Working with manual machines (so no power cuts can stop them!), her team crafts bold, one-of-a-kind pieces using vibrant African wax-print fabrics.

Here’s how it goes down:

  • Fair pay and flexible timelines — no fast fashion pressure

  • Ethical working conditions and respect

  • Style, culture, and craftsmanship all in one

From streetwear to statement pieces, these women bring the vision to life — and now, we're bringing it to Europe.

What started as a hustle to fund her studies is now a full-blown dream. Nathalie transforms leftover wax-print fabrics into vibrant accessories — earrings, bracelets, shopping bags, and even kitchen gloves. A mom of two with a passion for change, she’s building a self-sufficient future for Bukavu’s women, together with Douce.

Her goal?
To empower the next generation of women through creative entrepreneurship — one accessory at a time.
